hey guys, i know you all think 1.1 sucks, but i pretty well loved my little engine. BUT now i'm on the "need for power", so i'm thinking of getting a vts upgrade, i would like to know how much, and also what must i change (gearbox?). hope you can help me.
1.1 to VTS - advice needed, urgent...

#2don't need to change you gear box
will need pretty much every thing esle that is atached to the engine though e.g ecu, wiring looms and speedometer ect proberbly a few other bits and bobs that i cant think of but i'm sure someone else will tell you the rest. -
#3ecu, looms, transponder, keys from doner car, inlet manifold and exhaust manifold. just buy a vts!
-
#4Wheres the fun in just buying a VTS?
depends how much uve done to the car to make it ur own though, if its more or less standard get a VTS and swap bits over. if not give the conversion a try
ill be transplanting one into mine next year if all goes to plan
-
#5yeah i put a lot of bucks into bodykits(front rear bumpers, arches...)and going for another car will ruin me... any1 got a hint of how much it will cost?
-
#6dont need new gearbox....old one will give you better transmission...
-
#7Do it yourself. its really easy.
-
#8its as easy as that to change an engine and other bits??
-
#9why why why...? is it not cheaper buying a vts? Won't the engine be to powerfull for the car and the car fall apart?
-
#10how???Quote:Originally Posted by sjsbaleWon't the engine be to powerfull for the car and the car fall apart?
at the end of the day its still a saxo dont matter what engines in it
-
#11ie, the clutch and gear box not designed for a lower powered engine? wont they need replacing? and the wheels are much smaller so the handling isnt going to be that safe cos the vts is bad enough as isnt is?
-
#12surely the money spent on a conversion isn't worth it when you can buy a vts cheap anyway?
-
#13put vts in ya 1.1 mate its a wolf in sheeps clothin
-
#14thanks for your help, but thinking of wheels etc, i was thinking of maybe going for some 14' or 15's, also why i'm doing this conversion is that down here in mauritius there are hardly any vts' or vtr's, the only option is an engine transplant, it will cost cheaper...i think
-
#15the early mk 1 vtr/s al came with the vtr wheels so i wouldnt imagine wheels would make a difference to holding engine weight...
-
#16so there's an actual difference in engine weight too? by how much?
