Which Battery and insulation?

    Hey all.

Im planning to buy a new battery (preferably a light weight one) as my current one is completely dead.
Im looking at the Varley range, which one should I be looking at? Most electrics are removed from the car so am looking for the smallest I can get away with.

Also, I have an enclosed battery box in the rear of the car, currently Im using blocks of wood (lolz) to hold the battery in firm position. I had a crazy idea of using compact polystyrene to hold the race battery in place.
Would this be safe and suitable for the job do you think?

    Cheers all!

Found this on Rally Design, looks a good purchase:

Not found much on Gooooogle about supporting/insulating the battery inside the box.

The box will be matched to the battery. They should fit nicely. Don't put the racing battery in the big battery box, just buy a clamp mount that is made for that size of battery. Look at the battery on colin's rally vts. Because "most" racing battery's are liquid free you don'y need them to be enclosed in the event of a crash

Ahh right. I was planning to stash a small battery in my rather large box. Didnt actually think of changing the box completely. Doh!

    Nice one

No probs dude. I was on the lookout for an enclosed box for the 25 series but am struggling to find one.

    Cheers for the link
