Do cars need a vent filter?

   Do cars need a vent filter? Mine has snapped on my standard airbox but it is still resting on top of it so probably ok but not sure. What should I do? Will ductape work? Or should I buy a new one? Thanks

   Not quite sure what you mean by a vent filter on your standard airbox?

   it's the small connector that goes in on the side of the airbox.

   That's an example of an open vent filter.

   Oil needs to breath so you need something either a seperate breather or catch tank
   
   but you'll need to block the hole in the airbox if you do that
