#3From the second i saw the belt fly out the back the steering went heavey. So basically if i put a new belt on in the morning il have PAS back? I dont really understand why it should cut the PAS off if the battery isnt charging , im guessing its a safety feature.

#4because there isn't enough juice going to the battery due to power up what is basically a small hydraulic pump and that the power steering only comes into life when the engine is running and the charging circuit ie:alternator tells the PAS relay when to cut in, with no drive to the alternator the relay thinks the engine isn't running because the alternator's not turning hence no PAS

#5Ah i see! my mate had the back of the ignition burn out on his expose and his dad cut the wires and joined so the PAS would work with the ignition on one click so im guessing he removed the relay? Iv got nothing to worry about on mine then? new belt and sorted?
