Important! : Rear Axle Problem, in need of advise

  1. #1
I dont know alot about cars and im learning as i go along, ive come across a problem with the rear passenger side wheel, it seems to be rubbing against the rear bumper when driven. Ive taken the wheel off and had a look if i could see anything off set but i dont really know what i should be looking for.
Heres a couple pictures of it, theres a gap of 6CM on the left side of the wheel and a gap of 1 cm on the right. Surely something is wrong?

Does anyone know what this could be?

1st i`d have a go at re-aligning the rear bumper.

    Hi Aaron,

Excellent post. You may be better off asking the same question here: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=133

IM Axle's may be best placed to advise you on the problem and as a Premium member you will get a 10% discount.

I have a similar problem where the wheels, looked at from the rear are: |--\

IM suggested that the bearings on the arm connecting to the rear beam may be collapsed.

Also, have you jacked up the rear and checked the wheel bearings are ok? IF not try this first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5khjK0y6PIw but it seems to extreme to be a wheel bearing

I couldn’t hear any noise and there isnt much movement in the wheel however i think it may be sitting at an angle |--/ very slightly. And i think the Bushes may have perished if this could be the problem ?
