Help ... saxo's power has vanished !!

   I was driving to work this morning in the vts and i pulled out at an island , i didnt judge the speed of the oncoming car properly so i floored my car in second to pull away quickly and hit about 5k rpm . I only did this for a couple of seconds but then my power just died.. no big judder or bang my car has just appeared to have lost a good amount of power. my car still ticks over fine and seems to be runnin smooth when idling but i can barely get my car to 30mph in second gear anymore.
   I thought maybe ive blown my head gasket or a valve but when this has happened in the past on my old car it was alot more noticible. Does anybody have any ideas please?

   I`m lost tbh 1 suggestion get it looked over by a garage(hooked up to a diagnostics machine)

   i was going to say a slipping clutch or gear box oil on your clutch but im not sure if you can hardly do 30 in second
   
   as said above diagnostics check.

   could be a coilpack although that is quite noticable tbh

   does it sound ok though?
   
   could be running on 3 cylinders
