won't fire some times then runs lumpy wen it dose ?? help please

   hi guys iv got a 2000 mk2 vtr silver head
   
   the problem iv got is that some times it just wont start it turns over no problem and i can smell fuel but no fire and wen i do eventualy get it to fire after like 20 mins if trying it sounds realy lumpy and teh car shakes a bit liek its only running on 3 cyclinders but if i rev it a few times it gose bank to a normal sounds ??
   
   im thinking it could be the coil pack or sprk plugs
   im going to buy them both this weekend
   but wanted your experiance before i do incase im wasted money as usual lol

   Id guess that your coil pack is breaking down mate.

   spark plugs bost likely, if u can get irodium one's they are much better than standard

   ngk irridium ix spark plugs and splitfire ht leads and ovcorse new coil pack
   would u say there the best ht leads and spark plugs to buy ?? thanx again
