quick question are the alternators all the same on saxo's as i tried fitting an alternator from a 106 diesel today and didnt fit.

No they are not.
Some have a plug and some just have two bolt, nut and washer fixings for the wires.

cheers would they differ from the mk1 vtr's to the mk2's? could a vts alternator fit? off to the scrappy tomorrow just wanted to make sure id be getting the right one.

Best bet is to look at the connections on your original alternator as some of the early mk2's (single plug) had the earlier design alternators so it can get confusing.
I believe all the later mk2 (51 reg onwards) alternators are the same though.

ive got the 2000 model with the facelift the dodgy change over year, yh ill bring my old one with me and compare cheer man

Mines a 2000 vts and has the two stud and bolt connections.

Got a 306 alternator in the end form the scrappys 25 quid cheers for your help.
