Important! : steering knocking noise

   hi guys, coming out of school yesterday, i went to fast over a speed bump and i heard a loud bang from the front of the car, i thought the cambelt had snapped, well it turns out its the steering it makes a knocking sound whenever i turn the wheel in either direction, but mostly to the right, ive checked the power steering fluid levels and they are full, does anyone have any ideas what this could be ??
   any help appreciated

   if you have a trolley jack, jack up each side and check for play in the wheel, could be a track rod end or ball joint, even a droplink, also check you havent snapped your coil spring, going fast over a speedbump will do that

   cheers mate i think its probably the ball joint i hope its not the drop link paid £25 for one on the mot a month ago and i put a hole in the front section of the exhaust i paid £150 for to pass the emmisions , bad times

   yep, when they go wrong they go WRONG lol, il be forever changing gearboxes on mine

   i know i hope its not the pump, second hand ones are about £100, i only paid £900 for the car
