fuel gauge faulty

   My Xreg 2000 saxo forte fuel gauge is faulty/inaccurate - the light comes on well before empty and once the yellow warning light does comes on it runs out of petrol soon after.
   
   Help please. Fed up running around with petrol in the jerry can.

   it could be sumat to do with the sensor in your tank could be a dodgy wire?
