Important! : Really dodgy noise.

    Morning all.

Bit of a strange 1, lastnight when I pulled out of work quickly (as its on a dual carrigeway) had a really dodgy noise.

Only way I can describe it is as if someone had left a screwdriver in the bay and I'm had worked its way out hit the underside of the car a couple of times. Was so bad I stopped as soon as I could. Had a look and couldn't see anything wrong. Went to pull away again lastnight and had a similar noise but not as loud or aggressive.

    Any ideas atall? I'm stumpted

    Cheers in advance.

could possibly be the driveshaft bearing on the offside shaft that bolts to the block, i had this on a mates car and it made a similar noise and it only made the noise whilst accelerating hard

maybe work a look mate to check for play

Just had brand new driveshafts fitted a few days ago.

The noise only happened for the 1st time yesterday. Think its possible to work loose that quick?

    Its possible, but unlikely...

take it back and get them to check it...

I know the guys that did it all wouldn't have cut any corners. Everything has been replaced on the car. All brand new parts even down to nuts and bolts.

doubt it will have failed so quick, it is possible that the two long bolts holding the bearing in (L shape bolts) ,may not be seated perfectly and taking the car down the road has got them to fall in position and you nuts may now need tightening up. two minute job

this can happen as the bolts are fiddly expecially when the bearing is new
