hole for oil breather pipe in induction kit

   Iv just got a raceland enclosed induction kit and a filter for my oil breather pipe.
   should the hole in the induction kit were the oil breather pipe goes be blocked off and if so whats the best way of doing it?

   iv heard people just tape over the hole if you have an oil breather filter.

   Sorry to hijack thread but is oil supposed to come out of this hole? i purchased a 1999 VTR on thursday and noticed there was oil going into the standard induction kit and pooling at the bottom of the box, to me it looks like this is supposed to happen because the box seems to have a sort of trough for the oil to collect in.

   i asked this a while back dodn;t get no real answers
   i cut the L shaped piece down taped it to end of breather and stuck it in the hole. works fine

   iv fitted the oil breather pipe filter and now ther is oil comeing out around the oil filler cap dont no whats going on.

   i have same problem with me oil breather filter, its pissin out all over my rocker cover and making my engine bay a right mess

   The oil is coming out of your cap because the oil clogs the filter within hours. This means that is can't breath so is forced out of the cap. A catch tank fixes this problem, giving the oil a place to collect before being vented to atmosphere

   iv fitted it agen and i realised i had the clips to tight and was restricting the air flow to the breather filter and the pressure was forcing the oil through the filler cap think iv sorted it now.

    is it hard to fit a catch tank like does it just go next to the battery?

    I have an oil breather filter but no blockage and the oil is vented nicely into my cabin/engine (smelly!)

    i had oil smells in my cabin with a piper cross induction kit with the breather conected to it. and was told fitting a oil breather filter would stop the smells.
