Struts question help,

  1. #1
Car failed MOT on the following:

Front (BOTH SIDES/WELDED TO SHOCK) Coil spring not correctly located.

So basically if I replace springs and shocks that's that problem solved.

Front (BOTH SIDES) Macpherson strut has excessive movement at the upper attachment

How do I sort this, can I just replace the struts? Or is it likely to be somethin else.

There is someone on here breaking a mk1 saxo which is lowered. He has struts shockers and springs. Would this be suitable? Or are struts all different.

    My car is a 2003 MK2 VTR.

    Thanks

you will need 2 new struts off a mk2 vtr, easier then changing all the dampers and stuff

As said you will require Mk2 struts so that the hubs have the tapered driveshaft fitment.

The 'Excessive movement at the top attachment' sounds like the top mount bearings have shot it.
