engine light problems?

my engine light came on last night and i decided not to drive it just in case. every now and again there would be like a flat spot where it holds back if i push the throttle.
Got it on the diagnostic machine this morning and it gave:
    *99 - injector cylinder 2+3 circuit.
    *132 - check engine light (<<?? wtf)

the garage told me they werent exactly sure on the fault and it could be anything like the coil pack or even the loom.

so, took it to the local citroen specialist and booked it in for monday with the kind old fellow who was there and they're going to put it on there diagnostic machine as there not familiar with the codes ive already been given. Also said if not that then manually check the injectors to see which ones goosed.

can anyone give some advice on the subject as im not really clued up about the electrical/ fueling side of the engine, and is this is a common problem?

    thanks

    Hi,

Those codes look odd. However, the first sounds like it is wiring to the injectors, or the injectors themselves, which would explain the flat spot you are experiencing.

The second "check engine light" just means that the check engine light is on, which you already know.

The injector is like an electric tap. It opens electrically for varying amounts of time to allow a very precise amount of petrol into the cylinder. See here for an overview: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-injection.htm

    thanks bob
is it a good idea then to have the citroen specialist look at it and see if theres problem or shall i wait for the light to re appear again, becuase today ive been driving it back and forth to work as the fault codes were removed this morning and i havent seen the warning light since.

    Hi,

With intermittent problems then the fault codes are stored. If the fault goes then the ECU removes the light but stores the error. No harm in getting Citroen to look at it and get their opinion on what the problem might be ;o)

That said, I'd take a look at the injector wiring to make sure everything is plugged in right, especially if you have done any work in that area.

ok thanks. yeah dan thats what the old boy at the citroen specialist said.
i was starting to think i mayaswell save my pennies as the light isnt on anymore since the faults been cleared and it drives fine. but mayaswell for the sake of £30 to see whats the problem

of course theres still a problem lol i wish turning a light off solved problems

no mate it's just cleared the fault codes off your ecu

try getting a compression test over the 4 cylinders then post up the results

my first thoughts was coilpack/ht leads thoe.
