loss of power at low down revs

  1. #1
It pulls ok until about 1900rpm then at about 2000rpm it dies back down until it reaches roughly 2900rpm then pulls strong again.

This only happens when im pulling away from a standstill whilst feathering the throttle - when im flooring it pulls strong at all revs. Seems to only happen when the engine is very warm i.e after a fairly long drive and its fine when cold.

Just changed the oil filter, engine oil, fuel filter, spark plugs, coilpack and air filter (BMC replica).

    Any ideas?

not too sure but i always thought the symptoms of a funny coilpack is permanent (i.e mine is only happens after a while of driving) and more obvious like misfiring?

    Usually,

Only reason I say that is because the ecu ignores the reading from the lambda when the engine is cold and when you're at WOT. And you say you don't get the problem in either of these situations.

Symptoms of a fucked coilpack vary. Stalling, Misfiring, flat spots. etc. And some get worse as the engine warms up, some get better. Although usually it's moisture entering the pack that is causing the problem, so the problem gets better as the engine warms up and dries the moisture.

are coilpacks for furios,1.1s the same as VTRs?

Edit: also forgot to mention that the previous owner installed the fuel filter the wrong way round, could this of affected the engine and contributed to what im experiencing?
