Important! : white smoke

hi can any one tell me wots this problem... the saxo that my brother has got is smoking vary bad i.e WHITE SMOKE from the back and from the cat at the front im not sure where to start on this problem .all i do no is that the car only done 50000 miles and its a shame ..is the cat f.ck at the front any questions cheers and replys asap thanks

For the life of me I cant remember what white smoke in the exhaust means, I think its water getting into the engine? Or is that blue-ish smoke? If its not water it sounds like it could be oil getting into the engine, either way it seems more a serious fault with the engine as opposed to the exhaust pipes, I'd say its kinda worrying, and although only done 50,000 miles, it could have been absolutely hammered and thrashed

Just remembered, its water getting into the cylinders in the engine, possibly could be head gasket failure/head failure

Yes I would agree with this too.
If you have a sniffer tester this would confirm if the head gasket is gone, for people who don't know what they are you draw coolant up and it can show if toxic gases are in the water.
