help.... rattle noise when i accelerate ?????

   as it says above as i accelerate well most of it is in 1st and 2nd gear but after that with the exhaust i cant really hear it as much, but i feel as if it is coming from next to the driver side front wheel and help of what this could be and what i could do to sort it??
   
   really doing my head in now!!!
   
   ps.... dident know what section this could have went in so i put it in the Saxo Engine/Performance bit aswell just need to find out what this is and what can be done to stop it

   Hi,
   
   Check that the exhaust downpipe is secured to the undeside of the gearbox.

   mmm a dont know what it could be but thanks for that bud i will give it a go in the morning see what i can find it dident use to do it just started doing it the last couple of weeks but was only somtimes but now its everytime and it has seemed to get louder and when i put my drivers window down it sounds like its coming from under the drivers side like at the drivers front wheel somwhere around that
   
   but will have alook at the exhaust downpipe tomorrow and let you know cheers again

   Mine does it i`ve been told its the tappets in the engine that need adjusting(not a big job)

   Tappets you would hear all the time, like a ticking noise that gets louder with acceleration
   
   might be your CV boot or driveshaft? or possibly a wheel bearing?

   I had the exact same problem recently and I was puzzled for ages as to what it might be.
   
   When I was checking the engine it seemed to be coming from the injectors so I leant my leant my hand on the coil pack so I could lean over and have a look. The noise stopped immediately so I removed the coil pack and realised that the noise was being caused by a loose spark plug! It had worked it's way loose due to the vibration from the engine. A trip to Machine Mart for a long socket and it was fixed!

   thanks for the advice there seem to be so much it can be booked it into the garage to be there for 9 oclock hope it aint going to cost to much...
