had two new tyres put on front of my vtr 2000. the guy when he was taking the wheel off snapped one of my studs. he tried to use an easy out to get it out.no success.i'm driving round with three studs holding the n/s front wheel on. i know this aint safe. any ideas how to get it out or is this not a small straightforward job...................

#2Remove the other three, take the wheel off then get some mole grips or something on the stud? or has it snapped flush with the hub?
If so, drill it out and use an easy out on the remaining stud.
Or drill and retap.1 user thanked this post: -
#3garage should be able to drill it and tap it to get bolt out1 user thanked this post:

#4cheers.will giv it a blast. the stud is snapped inside.not even flush. there cant be much left inside like.i'll try and bore it out wiv a hss drill bit................

#5i'd have made him do it before leaving the garage ffs why did you agree to drive it away?!?!?!
-
#6My locking bolt sheered off before, luckily all i had to do was work it loose with molegrips but be warned the hub threads can be easily cross threded
-
#7get a stud extractor, first drill a hole through the centre of the snapped stud carefully
then the extractor connects and you are able to undo the bolt simples. -
#8i dunno if id risk retapping a hub. but thats just me

#9if they break something as dangerous as that shouldn't they fix it before you leave???
