as title . . . but what will happen with revs ect will it just rev quicker to the limiter? but not complicate the speedo etc?

    much difference in acceleration?

    cheers

A Vts box has closer ratios, so it should improve your acceleration. Your top speed will be reduced, as the R doesn't rev as high.

I fancy doing this, cant be as bad as putting a 1.1 box on surely??? Top speed muxt be slightly better????

    not quite Quick dude...

the 5th gear is an overdrive gear on the VTR box. So the car never actually hits redline at top speed, so with a slightly shorter box the VTR still hits top speed amazingly!

so what does that mean lol it wont be quicker?

Yeah, it'll accelerate quicker and you won't lose top speed.

i have a vts on a 1.4 gear box .... its amazing .. i highly reccomed u choose a 1.4 or a 1.3 rallye box as the vts can handle more torque but ull loose low end power cuz itll take longer to go thru the gears.... the 1.1 box will smash its self to bits in seconds with the torque of a vtr 8v i reccomend the 1.4 best of both worlds good aspect of strengh and it can hadle a lil more toque than the 1.1 but still a closer ration than the vts....

Can someone tell me the OFFICIAL (not what you saw on your own dials!) top speed of a VTR please?... just in case as I don't want to claim the VTS box we be the best of the both worlds if it aint.

    thank you!

1.4 box isnt, it has same gear ratios (3rd, 4th and 5th) only 1st and 2nd gear are smaller and the diff is alot weaker so im taking it steady in mine as the diff went in my vtr box so i dont want to break the diff in the 1.4 box, so no dont go for the 1.4 box if you can help it lol

I did this to my vtr it accelerates quicker for sure. iirc it sits about 500rpm higher in each gear compaired to the standard box.

It can't sit at a 500 rpm difference throughout the entire rev range dude - not trying to be a cock just mentioning that's all.
