is this how a turbo works?

basically i know how a turbo works but i always got a bit confused where all the pipes go so i made up a little pic

so basically air comes in through air filter to the turbo, then the turbo to the intercooler, intercooler to t/b, air through cylinder head, exhaust manifold to turbo, turbo to down pipe

so all the parts you need to physically fit a turbo are the following:
    turbo
    intercooler
    air filter
    manifold
    down pipe
    pipe from filter to turbo
    pipe from turbo to intercooler
    pipe from intercooler to t/b

sorry if i sound like a noob, but i wanna get my head round it, obviously i know you need other things to get it to work (5th injector, management etc)
and how do you plumb in the oil feed?
also do throttle bodies work well with boost? i heard some where it runs like shit but ive seen that red 16v rallye with boost and throttle bodies and that runs well, do you just need a well designed air box?

im in the same boat as you, i know how the actual turbo works, but dont know what goes where

    nice diagram btw

No but its not far off. Have a search theres a good couple of threads from Sophia_bush

You can run booted boddies but it needs a good setup for it to run right but when its set up good it will be awsome.
Most people adapt their sumps for the oil feed drain

i worked from this pic off the dp engineering website and im pretty sure my diagram is the same as that one? i just made it a bit more life like lol

    Try http://auto.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm

The extra injector is need so that the engine doesn't run lean (not enough fuel for the extra air)
Different management as the stock set-up can't cope with boost and running extra injectors.
A decent extra injector set up will still see good power gains.

cheers guys i feel as if i know much more now, i would love to have a low boost turbo kit but they are so expensive for a student such as my self so i would like to collect parts second hand as second hand turbo kits dont generally come up that often and if you buy separately i can see single parts being pretty cheap, as full kits are more convenient, you seam to pay a premium just because its easy to order all in one go
