Furio To Vtr Conversion

#2This would do it:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/citroen-saxo-v...item27b278a1e0
Basically,
Engine, ECU, Loom.
You'd need to get the ECU unlocked (about £80 iirc).
Could do it for around 200 doing all the work yourself
I got my current engine from a 2003 car, with 38k miles for 120 quid
-
#3so engine ecu n loom all from the same vtr will be fine?
-
#4Yeh

I think the VTR has a different drivers side driveshaft, but you can still use the 1.4 one you have currently.
Also try and get it from the same year car, makes things a bit easier i think
-
#5cheers mate also was wondering how hard isit to do the conversion yourself and how long would it take roughly?
-
#6I swapped an engine over in three days, without a crane.
If you know what you're doing and you have an engine crane you could do it pretty quickly.
It's a pretty full on job though
-
#7so theres no way you could do it ina day?
-
#8you could swap the engine in a day easily with the right tools and garage equipment, its any wiring that will take a while
-
#9Yeh you could

I did mine over winter... and only did about 6 hours a day.
You could probably do it in 12/14 hours... assuming you knew what you were doing and you had no problems.. which isn't too likely.
Mine had no problems... but that was a straight replacement.. rather than a conversion. -
#10my brothers a mechanic was guna ask him to do it :d
-
#11How much to get it fitted by a pro?
-
#12By a garage... Could be anything up to a grand. They seem to work so slow. Took them four hours to change some front shocks for me the other day... Cost me 200 quid and I provided the shocks!
It's simple enough to do yourself.. Or you could get someone off here to do it for a lot less.
Maybe like 200 quid for someone off here to do it

#13user williamvts will do it for £150 if you supply everything
