Just bought a saxo vtr 2002 standard engine. Need some more power so what can I do? Will an induction kit, updated coil pack? Manifold, uprated injectors..chipped ecu ....be worth while? Adam
What engine mods can I do to get some more poke?

#2manifold is a good bet because the cat is in the manifold, then you need a good induction kit and a good exhaust system for starters.

#3I would go for...
Induction Kit - Typhoon K&N
4-2-1 Manifold
Full Cat Back system
Cammed
That should see you upto around 115 - 120bhp.
Don't bother with chips. -
#4It entirely depends on how far you want to take it. And by that i mean if you plan on just putting a manifold, induction kit and a cat back then you would see some nice torque/acceleration gaines from that alone, all is good in the hood.
However once you start venturing into cams and headwork etc.etc. then your cross into the territory (which so many people on here have) where you spend hundreds on camming and remapping your vtr only to be equally as quick as a standard vts (at best).
To conclude, basically, stick with breathing mods. If you wish to take performance further, put an 's engine in and start from scratch.
Thanks,
