Horn not working

OK, I've searched this site, and the net, until I'm blue in the face - but still nothing!

    Where is the horn relay?

With the horn unplugged, I have 12V at the horn. With the horn plugged in, it's only 0.12V.

The earth is sound - so there's a corroded wire somewhere in the supply side.

It's not the fuse - I've checked every one, and the heated screen and the cigarette lighter both work.

So I need to find the relay - but can't find it anywhere!

It's a 2000 Mk2 1.5 diesel I picked up for my sister - changed brakes, the back axle, welded the sill, just stuck with this horn now for the MOT!

    Any help appreciated, thanks.

    Hi,

The horn won't have a relay as it doesn't consume alot of amps. If you get 12v at the disconnected horn wire and when you push the horn then that is fine. The voltage will drop across the horn when it is plugged in.

Sounds like you need another horn, try a breakers yard.

    The horn's working fine.

It should have a relay - most horns draw around 5 amps, ruling out being connected directly.

Anyone got a wiring diagram for this? I was hoping to get this car on the road today - but there's no point in getting it retested with no horn!

Am I allowed to cable tie an air horn to the driver's mirror?

Surely someone has a wiring diagram including the horn?
