steering shaking badly

  1. #1
rite the steering itself is fine, around 60+ the steering wheel shakes quite badly, and i can feel the wheels wobbling, i know everyone is just gonna say needs balancing, but they dont, already had them done. anything to do with the tracking?

swapped the drivers side strut completely as though might have been the case, still posists. gonna have to guess its gotta be the tracking.

What wheel nuts are u using? There's two variations of the flat washer type, mk2's should have a wider end were they sit in the wheel bolt holes and mk2 wheels have larger bolt holes to match

It could be your axle mate just a suggestion
my rear axle was f**ked basically an that made my wheels would wobble and the steerin wheel would shake at 60+

are you sure they have being balanced right? cuase if you got it done on the cheap then there prob not balane right, or some of the weights have fell off, only other thing is something on the steering loose or worn

If you can see them wobble, that seriously sounds like loose wheel nuts or a buckled wheel.

May have worded that wrong, but you can see it vibratin. Wheel nuts are tight as fuck, but cant see both wheels buckled. I'l take them down to garage, get them balanced and go from there.

problem been solved appeared to be the disks that were warped. now replaced works great.

Good that you fixed it mate!

I was going to say it could be the tracking. My steering wobbled at 60+ and once a garage did the tracking its like a new car to drive.
