D.I.Y engine transplant

   is this possible?
   
   and how hard would it be to do it?
   
   i know a fiar bit about cars and have mates who do to, and just wondered whether i could do it or am i dreaming?
   
   i would like the challenge and have access to an engine crane and a good selection of tools, but not a ramp...
   
   it would be a vts into a vtr

   I'm sure I saw a thread on here where a guy said he had done a VTR to S transplant himself and that it was pretty straight forward. So long as you know what your doing and you've got people with you who know what their doing it shouldn't be too hard.

   did you know what you were doing or was it learning as you go along?
   
   iv never taken a engine out before but have a good idea how its done!

   piece of piss mate done bout 30 vts conversions for people can do it in bout 7 hours from drivin in to workshop to drivin out with engine changed

   depending if you get the right engine out of the same year car so you dont have wiring problems

   think i might give this a go in the summer, if not ealry next year!
   
   im planning on going the whole route with this, i.e. forced induction aswel. i might think about looking into an engine that already has these mods done to it. seen a few about!
   
   just got some thinking to do
   
   are there any websites that tell you how to remove an engine? i plan on learning how to do it on paper before i do it for real! got a year or so to do this! i have a good idea but would like to know for sure before i rip it out

    if you're serious about doing it yourself then buy a haynes manual, that way you'll learn how to do the individual things needed to take an engine out ie remove driveshafts, gear linkage etc etc.
