Need new alternator...help!

  1. #1
Right the alternator has packed it in as the battery light has appeared on the dash and the car is drinking petrol massively - (i spent £20 on fuel getting from lakeside to southend!) this is because the ecu is trying to compensate.

I have a saxo VTR with 1999 GTI engine but at present it has the old alternator off the VTR on it.

Does anybody know a part number or anything that could help me out in getting a new one?

    70 80 or 90 amp?

    Anything would be a help!

Hi, the safest way to make sure that you get the right one is to remove it and take it to the parts counter of a motor factors/ECP then compare what they have to yours.

But i don't want the same one as mine as mine is off a VTR and was made to fit lol

it wasnt made to fit as the the vtr and vts blocks are the same so it fits with standard parts.
to fit a 16v one you need the mounting bracket s and tensioner set up
