New Drop Links?

  1. #1
    hey, i bought a VTR a week ago on the spur of the moment and kinda wished id waited :< Anyways since ive been driving it i've always thought that the steering wasnt quite right, jacked her up and took the wheels off to have a gander this morning and this is what i saw;

    Also when i'm driving there seems to be some sort of grinding/scraping sound coming from the wheels is this because of the droplinks or something completely different? I tend to hear the noise most when going in a straight line at about 20mph

    hi there you need to get 2 new droplinks, 1 for each side that will help

    It may be the cause of the noise, cheap replacement so simple to rule it out

    Any play in the hub?

    new ones are in order.

    everything seems to wear out so quick with saxos iv just had to order x2wishbones, droplinks, new track rod ends and anti roll bar bushes.

    all standard items as iv found the powerflex bushes to be a load of turd!

    Yeah i bought them over powerflex as heard nothing really that positive them.

    Same material to a point yeah but different levels of flexilibty, the same way powerflex black are different ot their blue

    Probably same way tyres are made from the same material (rubber) but perform differently.

    both bushes are made from same material and same size/fitment. theres no physical difference so on what grounds can you state that one is stiffer then the other???

    You can get blacks. Might not be on their website since they had the fire, but i thought they got everything back to normal now. Might be redseigning the blacks or somthing, but they do do them.

    Pete the FloFlex ones do appear to be stiffer items than the purple powerflex ones (not to mention much cheaper)

    They havn't been around long enough to confirm how well they compare once theyve had a good bit of use though

    However, if you're looking for something much stiffer than the purple powerflex, then you'd be much better looking at the Red Polyrace ones as theyre very very good value for money compared to powerflex items and certainly compared to the powerflex black ones which are similar in stiffness terms

    wish i bought these lol i fitted powerflex arb bushes and polyrace wishbone bushes, only bought the polyrace ones because they were cheaper, i still need to do my lower g/box mount and rear beam mounts so i think ill be purchasing these

    Mine used to make a whining noise when free rolling but since i changed the drop links it doesnt do it no more .
