#4rad leak, radiator pipes leaking, could be headgasket too. Run the car and hold your hand against the exhaust pipe. If you get drops of water - it's normal (condensation)
if you get quite a bit coming out it may be one of many signs of headgasket failure. -
#5ok mate i will have a good tmoz when i go out in the morning. should i do it when its cold or warm?
-
#6It's either leaking or being burnt. I doubt that feeling moisture in the exhaust would be a good indicator unless the gasket has gone big time then you get clouds of steam from it.
Take it to garage and ask them to perform a sniff test on the coolant. This will tell you for sure if it's the gasket. They tend to go around 60-80k miles on most tu 8v's, in my experience anyway. -
#7if its using water that fast then if its a leak surley u would have a puddle underneath wen u park for long enuf for it to cool, as if its going to stopleaking sometimes it will be wen the cars warm and the pipes are warm if its a pipe, if you over fill it it wont harm it it will just drai the excess through the overflow and its sorted! does your car heat up if you sit with it running?
-
#8Dont say that!! mines on 97000 and hasnt gone yet and no use of water atall! lolQuote:It's either leaking or being burnt. I doubt that feeling moisture in the exhaust would be a good indicator unless the gasket has gone big time then you get clouds of steam from it.

#10check the oil see if it looks milky
-
#11done all that mate everything is ok, car still runs fine dont get over heating no white smoke or milky stuff in oil cap

#12Get hold of some Radseal. It'll cost you about £4 from your local Halfords. Follow the directions on there and it should seal any leaks you have in your radiator or cooling system. If you've put too much water in at some point it might have caused a leak somewhere through the extra pressure before the overflow managed to get rid of the extra water.
-
#13radseal also has an anooying habit of clogging up heater matrixes which at this time of years not such a problem but you'll be cursing in winter
-
#14ive got countless threads on this,
no leaks, loosing water
its my headgasket weve ruled it down to now
