    are they shite or what?

just fitted one to my 1.1 engine...worked my ass off today getting engine in the car and all plumbed in ready for the road/mot ...went to put foot on clutch bite felt shite, adjusted it and now exacly the same as my last one im getting a horrid grinding sound whenever it is pressed and it wont go in gear to grinds as if they clutch isnt been realised, going to play with the adjustment tomorrow could it be down to this or what?

and yes everything is fitted how it should be plate is on right way round and reliase bearing is as clipped on as well as it can be

fucking fuming now and from now on i will only buy valeo ones!

any ideas? iv searched sax-p and seen quite a few threads on people not getting more than about 1k miles out of them before going bang

Sounds like you knocked it off when fitting the gearbox - is easy to do.

Could be but for it to happen both times? I didnt do the last one and the bearing was still clipped on when i took it apart again

So you've fitted 2 transmech clutches and both times the release bearing has broken and made noise ?

nope i had one fitted by someone else

was making a rubbingsound and was put down to the clutch adjustment,in the end i took that engine out so never sorted it

and just done another on my 1.1 got the clutch kit from a lad on 106owners stupidly didnt check the make as it was a swap for somthing and i thaught anything will do,put it all on and its doing exacly the same thing as the last one

    clutch adjustment is right

i will be checking the bearing anyway if its come off then problem sorted i hope it is this tbh becuase i could do without shelling out £100 for a valeo one atm
