Suspension Top Mounts (with pics)

   bassically i have got a knocking noise coming from the drivers side suspension. I went to a garage and they said it could be the top mount.
   
   they told me to try tightening the bigger nut in the middle and when i did it just keeps spining. are the surposed to tighten or and the surposed to spin. i also nothiced that on the bolt the nut screws onto theres like a hex hole in it does that affect it

   Ask a local garage to tighten the big nut in the middle with a windy gun.

   yeah i have tried tightening it but it doesnt seem to tighten i think there might be a special tool that goes into that star shaped thing?

   A windy gun will tighten it mate, had a similar issue with my old Saxo.

   without enough torque or pressure you will just turn the damper with the nut and it wont tighten. Get an 18mm swan neck spanner and the relivant size torque bit in the top of the damper and tighten it.
   
   If not i can supply you with 2 brand new top mounts for cheap
