iv fitted a oil breather pipe filter and after a long drive it is coursing oil to come out round the oil filler cap but if i fit the breather pipe to my induction kit it stops the problem. i was thinking the problem might be that the breather fillter is to small it is a 12mm BMC so to much pressure is building up and coursing the oil to come out at the oil filler cap. does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem is or no what the fillter size should be?

#2You might have a high crankcase pressure caused by blow by due to worn rings. When connected to the induction kit the oil is simply burnt by the engine, you will only notice the amount of with the little filter on of course. I am not familiar with the 16v breatehr system but my first step would be to make sure it is clear and not blocked.
Hopefullty someone who is up on the 16v can tell yo uwhere the breatehr pipes run from and to.
If cleaning them out does not help then refit pipe to induction system and get compression checked. Does it use much oil btw? -
#3iv checked for blockages and its all clear i dont think the piston rings are worn coz its only done 67000 but you never no. its usually fine on oil doesnt use much at all and its running realy well thats why i dont get why its doing it. i think i'l do what you say like and get compression done. do you think it could be doing damageing the engine haveing high pressure like that?
