I have a similar prob with mine (1.1i) and think i have narrowed it down to be the stepper motor

i thort it could be that tbh, but wasnt sure about tps? but dont know if that would cause the slow downful on revs?

Possibly...only think i could reccomend is getting an auto electricon to have a look then you would know for sure....which i may plan to do with mine

    Hi guys,

you are on the right track in my opinion. Yes the ICV/stepper motor does help to smooth the reduction in revs.

I think you can control the valve by by adjusting its acceration so that you will not touch it over and over.

Well update, i took off the icv and give it a quick clean and put it back on and started up the revs dropped down then i went to the bay give it a quick blimp on the throttle and the revs stayed up but not as high, and the revs still dropped pretty slow.. faster than it was but not as fast as normal..

does that mean it is a icv for sure?!

ive known in the past that sometime you need to drive them abit to let it adjust and settle
  13. #13
okay ill take it round the block
  14. #14
taken it for about a 10mile drive and still the same.. think im gunna have to get a new icv and just try it!

my bets is on idel control valve but before you do that give your throttle body a good clean. me mates audi failed its mot on emmisions because the revs wouldnt stay still, ended up being the throttle body so he had it changed and everything was alright after it
