idle control valve help???

   well after all that hassle of trying to find out what the problem was with my vtr i think i have found out well i hope, the IDLE CONTROL VALVE.
   
   could this make my car loss the revs and die on me and also make a loud rattle sort of sound when its f**ked???
   
   and if any1 has got a saxo breaking its a mk1 vtr i am looking for 1 of them thanks must be able to post i will make a thread in the wanted but just thought i would say it in here aswell as trying to find out about it

   aww is it aww well haha could that make a really loud like clicking noise when accelerating??

   Fuel injected cars do not have a choke, only a carb'd engine has a choke to richen the fuel air mix when cold.

   yes not a prob thanks mate i know its a idle control valve now what i want to know could this make a loud rattle kind of noise when its fuked aswell as the revs dieing on me ???

   Probably wouldn't cause the rattling mate. Check your spark plugs and coil pack too they have a habit of coming loose on the Saxo. I had the same problem, just removed the coil pack, tightened up the plugs and checked all the leads were making good contact which totally stopped the annoying rattling!

   thanks mate but i had just went and got new plugs and fitted them the day and i had a look at the leads and coil pack both seem fine and getting a spark of them all now and plus when i had it in the garage they said that the coil pack and leads were spot on but they dident know what else could cause it but still have the same rattle so i am hopeing tomorrow i can find a saxo in the scrap yards to see if i can get a half decent idle control valve off 1 and see if that makes a diff i hope

   Cool, if you're struggling to find one give me a shout there's a few in the scrappies round here and I'm always in getting bits for mines.

    thanks Rikochet mate i got 1 and fitted it and still no difference but think i got the prob now. my gasket has gone aswell as 2 valves and the timing is out and the timing belt is f**ked so in the garage getting the work done get it back monday/tuesday and hope thats it all sorted and back on the road
