what bhp did you get?

  1. #1
what sort of bhp did you lot get after a re-map??

only want a ruff idea i know not all rollers are perfect etc
  2. #2
All depends what car and what mods you have done. A standard Saxo of any model will never gain that much unless you have done plenty of other true perforce oriented modification. I'm not talking the junk many people like to simply stick on.

Edit, For example my 1360cc 8V AX made over 100bhp on its standard output but it was that modified it would simply not run on the standard management. But if you mapped a stock AX you may see no gain at all.

ye sorry didnt word it very well....
just after a ruff guide.. like... a cammed car what bhp before a map and after a map
obv it depends what else the car has had done to it...

so what iam after is a car before a re-map what bhp... then after a map
  4. #4
if you look at the cam manufacturers, often says it on there, i no roughly vts with ph3 cams add 10bhp unmapped and about 20 mapped
  5. #5
dont spose you would know what ph3 is with cat cams?

mine bein a furio it probly got me about 5bhp before a map but cant remeber the profile (think its a fast road) obv depending on other stuff done to the car iam lookin to double the brake?
  6. #6
i thought u decided to go vtr lol im getting dizzy keeping up with your ideas lol if you want to mod a 1.4 then get your self a 1.4 xsi engine mate then with your mods you'll definitely be looking at 120+bhp!
  7. #7
    ye i know
what happens is i sort money out put it aside etc.... then work gets cut down and i have to use it for insurance etc
  8. #8
you could get a new engine for about £50 and spend about the same refurbing it, you could even sell your brakes and get some 266mm 206 gti ones to free up some cash? or is that a no go area lol
  9. #9
A vtr engine conversion would cost less than an atspeed lightweight flywheel
  10. #10
^^ this guy talks sense lol

really??? i wouldn't pay that much for a vtr engine, all the ones ive seen go for f**k all lol i was selling mine for about £50 until i realised there was rust in the bores lol

    WHAYYYYYY 4000TH POST lol

What sort of price will a remap cost? You had any quotes yet? They a live remap or just a generic one?

I can't see you getting change for £300 for a remap at least, plus another £200 for lightweight fly + £100 on new clutch and parts to fit. So basically £600.

You could fit a cammed Vts lump for that if you bought carefully and from someone trusted. Then when you wanted to go mad, could get nice gearbox, lightweight fly, standalone, bodies, turbo etc.

re-map mum and dad will put money towards for this engine....
ive had a qoute for 250£ thats a live map on the rollers

if i bought another engine id have to pay for it myself (due to them not wanting me to really do it)
  16. #16
If that was me that would have answered my questions mate !

£250 for a live remap is really good aswell !! tbh if your going to get about 120+ bhp then whats the point of forking out the extra cash and insurance for the S lump,, if you do want more power eventually then you still have the option of going S
  17. #17
ye its annoyin as i got money and crane etc ready as i had a vtr engine but had to drop the bloke out and cancel the crane

then mum n dad said they wouldnt have paid for a re-map for it etc so... figured i may aswell keep this and get it running well then save for a bigger car
  18. #18
Sounds like a good idea to me mate, otherwise your might aswell just buy a bigger car altogether as the insurance would probably be similar ??

How much you paying for insurance btw ??

well i cant see him getting 120bp out the furio engine to be fair

sam- what is it running atm? for some reason i have 87bhp in my head is that right? also how much torque dose it have? even a tuned 1.4 engine with the same bhp as a vtr engine may still have less torque than a standard vtr due to the vtr having a larger cc, but im guessing you know that anyway, im guessing you'll be looking at about 100bhp once its mapped? if thats all you want then yea id say go for a remap, but if your going to want more power, then id say quit while your ahead to squeeze a further 20bhp out the furio engine is asking a lot

with my dad with 4 years no claims and me with a years no claims about 70£ a month

ye its 87, and i know iam not guna get much more out of it, it has a nice curve on the print out i had before ill get it up in a sec

i know it will neve have masses amount of torque, ill get it mapped then when i have the money ill get the fly wheel and polly bush it all up and make it stick well, as long as i can corner harder and brake later than my mates on TRACK DAYS then its cool
  22. #22

not the best picture but a ruff idea
  23. #23
As far as i was aware sam was doing the Vtr conversion which is why i said 120 bhp.. very hard to get that out of a 1.4 unless you went down bodies, cams standalone etc..

and thats not bad to be honest is that with mods decalred and stuff ?
  24. #24
most of the mods declared except cam and rear disc brakes
  25. #25
    thats cheap then mate !!
you don't even wanna know what my policy is....
  26. #26
lol on TRACK DAYS subtle hint haha you should have gold stars and red arrows pointing towards it lol if you'll be happy with 100bhp and a good handling car then go for it! especially if your parents are paying for it, obv easier and less messier than an engine conversion and then you can start saving for a vts like in a years time, im sure 100bhp will keep you satisfied for a while especially if you get it handling good
  27. #27
nope otherwise i would have asked... haha jokin
    whats yours then??

and see what i mean about the curve? i dont really know what iam lookin at but always heard that the longer the curve the better?
  28. #28
    ^^ Agreed

Only reason i got my 306 is cuz i knew i cud map it for cheaps
