8v or 16v engine rebuild

right i am going to keep the saxo i have it is a nice mrk 2 8v cammed my question is should i stick with the 8v engine and rebuild and make it stronger and do more work to it or

should i 16v do a little rebuild with some cams and a clean up and start there as getting a 160bhp out of one of a vts engine is not hard

i like the 8v engine and it is different is there any one that would back me up and tell me to play with an 8v engine instead of a 16v ?

Im a big fan of 8v, had a mk2 golf 1.8 8v gti and I preferred the simplicity of the 8v, timing belt snapped at the side of the central motorway up mine and me mate dropped a belt off and fixed it there and then, no bent valves or problems. Thats one of the reasons I got a vtr because of 8v.

VTS will always be quicker but you still have options for the vtr, still fit bodies or turbo to get the power up to a decent level.

Tuning wise I think that if your after power get the VTR, or ease of work the VTR.
