Washing sensors

Just wondering what i should be using to clean my MAP sensor and ICV? Scared i might damage it if i clean it with something wrong.

Aerosol carb cleaner will be fine. Did mine with some wynns stuff recently and they were fine after.

The only solvent like thing i got is WD40, would that be ok?

Possibly, but the MAP sensor and ICV have rubber seals on them - don't think WD40 is very kind to rubber.

I was given the impression that carb cleaners will quite literally eat through rubber? i know it eats through polystyrene.

How about running the map sensor under soapy water then letting it to dry?

It said on the can it could be sprayed directly into a throttle body/ inlet manifold with the engine running... not that I was stupid enough to try it haha. Can't imagine it would do rubber any harm though.

It's an electrical component, so you don't want water on it. The wynns stuff I got was only a couple of quid, or just use WD40.
