ECU has locked itself

unlocked my ecu yesterday. removed the blackbox while the engine was running. after that i tested the car and it would just strat. I fitted an other ECU but the car diddnt start so placed the eriginal ecu back on. The car statted again. After this i disconnected the battery for some other work but when i reconnected the battery the car didnt start and the engine light started to burn. Replaced the blackbox but still the same.

anyone have a clue what to do?

Sounds like this other ECU you tried to use was locked..

Not sure why disconnecting the battery made it lock itself though. Sure you undone the correct box?

Disconnect the battery for 30 mins (IIRC) to reset the ECU, then try start the engine.

yeah it was the right box, a real pain to get it out. I disconnected the battery yesterday so going to have a look if that worked

Disconnecting the battery just clearrs the error log and takes it out of limpmode if its in it. It wont unlock or mobilis an imobilised ECU

Well see if it works now first!

Then send the ECU to Ryan, cant rmemebr his username now. He will check if it is locked and unlock it if it needs to be

well it started again! dont know why but problem is solved
