Cant unlock drivers door with key

   I have to unlock the car via the passenger side as the driver's side lock wont turn when i put my key in. When i put the key in i can feel it wobble slightly from left to right by a few millimetres. Anyone know whats wrong?

   the key wobbles or the lock wobbles?

   When the key is in i am only able to move the key a millimetre both sides, at the same time I can feel the lock mechanism move slightly with the key inside the door when i place my hand on the lock mechanism inside.

   isnt that just the amount of give' in the mechanism though,that you get with every well used lock?it could be a lot of things mate. could be broken mechanism,could be that its just worn to the point of now not working.tried any magical wd40??

   Havent tried that yet. It just seems like it doesnt want to turn, maybe a busted mechanism inside the lock? - strange though, mechanisms dont ever break...

   Mine did something similar, took it out and it looked really worn to me, so I swapped the driver and passenger ones round since I never use the other one. works fine now

   was it really east yo swap over? baring in mind im not very handy with the tools!
