Alarm

This problem started last year. Whenever I lock my car using the fob, the alarm will go off after 5-10 minutes (not all the time but 8/10 times Id say). Theres no problem if I lock it manually with the key

    BUT

A while back I found the boot wasn't locked, even tried locking with the fob and it wouldd still open. I can't psyically turn the key in the boot lock either.

Would this be what is setting the alarm off? It senses the boot is not locked and then the alarm goes off?

If yes, how and what to stop it?

It will be the interior sensors Chris....its a common fault on the vts.

As for the bootlock they do tend to go very stiff as they are never used because of the keyfob.....get some wd40 with the straw on the end and squirt it into the lock....that should help the problem so atleast you can lock with the key.

If the boot isnt locking via central locking chances are it could be a damaged linkage or actuator valve.

agreed about the sensors apparently can replace them but more than likely will return as a fualt! best bet is a good new alarm system and it will most likely be the boot lock motor can get them cheap eg 10quid
