Odometer stuck on 99999

  1. #1
Sorry if this has been covered before, I have done a few searches and not found anything.

As title says, my odometer is stuck on 99999 miles, and looks as it is going to turn over to 100000 any time. However, it has not moved (nor has the trip counter) since I got the car in March. I could probably remove the wheel and dials to fix this, but wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it. Is it as simple as removing the dials, winding it to 100000 and then putting it back together? or do I need a new one. Would like to fix it really, as it bugs me that it doesnt work.

    Any help is appreciated

    bash the dash.. HARD
if that fails get new clocks around the same mileage.. when was your last MOT done in regards to mileage you might be able to drop a cheeky few thousand lol

I know it's been a long time but did you ever get this going? Mine is stuck on 29999 - Tried banging etc, nothing :-( I've been told by my MOT station it will fail because of it.

    Cheers,

Nope as long as the speedo itself works it should pass,to the op remove speedo unit it maybe broken ie not able to be wound on.Check the resistance on the big plastic cog at the side of the unit.
