knocking noise when i let off throtle

    ok hear goes. when im driving my saxo furio and i let of the accelerater, it makes a loud bang, its not backfireing its something hitting something else. and it sounds metalic. it also does it someethimes when im pulling away in reverse. could it be engine mounts or anything serious.....HELP MEE

    wheelbolts all nice and tight? Exhaust not knocking?

    Jack up the car, it is at the backside of the engine/gearbox around the same sort of height as the gear selector rods. You can't miss it really, it is pretty big and is the only real connection from the car to the engine.

    Id suggest engine mounts from what you describe however track rod ends give off a metallic ping sometimes!

    Drive with what?
    mounts can strain components due to excessive sway but no, nothing catastrophic.. it just depends on severity. If the mounting is snapped its a differed story to having a mount with excessive play lol.

    Its a 5 second check,
    -Crawl under car
    -Locate Lower Gearbox mount (V obious)
    -And Wiggle, see if bolt is snapped.

    mate for the sake of £30 and a piss easy job (20 mins max) it aint worth it.. however you'll get away with it just dont accelerate/brake hard be real gentle
