I will be getting a vtr this week so I can put the engine in my 1.1... No point using the vtr for my car as it ended up having a leak and the interior got fucked, and it needs a fair bit of welding! But engine is in good nick! So ideal!

So, I know there is an issue with the mounts, I think I read somewhere I can modify the mounts for it to fit or would it be easier to cut the whole lot out of the r and weld into the 1.1!

Before the transfer, I plan on having it port and polished, cammed, headgasket, rocker cover seal, ofcourse a service on it!

Is there anything else you guys can think of?

Also... The ecu needs to be 3 plug to 3 plug iirc, unless I use the igntion barrol, key and imob box right?

cut the whole mount off the R shell

    Thanks!

as for wiring, you can get into a world of hate trying to fit a 3 plug engine into a single plug shell even if you have all the other bits and bobs

Mine is 3 plug and I'm sure the r is!...if I unlock the R ecu (turn ignition on and remove imob box iirc!) I can still use my key and ignition?

you have to have it running to unlock, not just have the ignition on

So running, then unplug it! Then it will run with my ignition and key?

    Thanks for your help

it works for me, fire donor car up, reach up and unplug immob box, unlocked. I've always double checked by then disconnecting the code reader round the ignition switch and trying to fire them up, if it fires and runs, its un-locked.
