Exhaust gasses

right... my exhaust gasket went on the join between centre section and manifold... When it was leaking the noise was not that great at all but it certainly felt a wee bit quicker... Now i have a new gasket and have fitted it all up no blowing or anything like that the revs seem to go up a bit slower...

Someone shed a bit of light?

I know the gasses would be leaving quicker through the leaky bit but surely it should not increase performance?

I would wonder what would happen if you ran a car on the rr with a system then just off the manifold and no system, I did think about a side exit exhaust before.

You need a small amount of back pressure to stop the air/fuel mixture being pushed through on the overlap on the cam timing. That was the reason I thought it was needed. Someone correct me if I am wrong please.
