#2well is the mk2 vts engine a single plug or a three plug ecu?
-
#3im assuming it wud be a three plug. mine at the mo is a single plug. its just so i know what to do if i buy a 3 plug
-
#4its a lot more hassle than it worth thats all im saying if you buy a single plug engine then its plug and play very easy it you buy a three plug then your opening a whole can full of problems
secondly dont assume anything, if your buying something like a new engine make sure its right for your car -
#5well what im doing is going from 8v to 16. took engine out so everything is ready to go just got to buy it so im best of looking for a single plug unlocked ecu with the engine. i already have a single plug ecu in my car just didnt want to be restricted to one set of engines lol
-
#6iv done the same with my vrt iv put a 106 gti engine in its a bit of a nightmare im using vts loom and in the proces of getting an unlocked single plug

#7ive dun this ive put a single plug engine ecu and loom into a 3plug car.... all uve gotta do is match fat blue wire cc2 to thin white cc2 on the single plug and the other fat blue 1 to the fat blue 1 and same with the fat white 1s and itll start as long as uve got an unlocked ecu... the rest is diagnostic wires and sensors and reverse lights if u do do it this way p.m me and ill type u up the wire numbers and what they are.
-
#8will it work from single plug to 3 plug but just reversed in the way that your saying it?
-
#9Is it really alot more hassle then its worth? I've been looking for a 3 plug engine and loom for months and cant find a thing, so may have to go down this route.Quote:ive dun this ive put a single plug engine ecu and loom into a 3plug car.... all uve gotta do is match fat blue wire cc2 to thin white cc2 on the single plug and the other fat blue 1 to the fat blue 1 and same with the fat white 1s and itll start as long as uve got an unlocked ecu... the rest is diagnostic wires and sensors and reverse lights if u do do it this way p.m me and ill type u up the wire numbers and what they are.

#10the single plug ecu is better for running cams and mapping my vts is cammed so this was not so much by choice i got the engine alone off a m8 on the cheap and spent loads on it ... yes it should be the same but the other way around m8 like i said ive dun it so it dus work its not that much hasstle if im honest as long as u have a good loom its relli simple its like 15 wires and the rest are all anti-theft and get cut off cuz there not used wen the ecus unlocked.. if u do choose to go ahead this way let me know and ill email u all the colours and numbers etc tisnt all that hard if u can wire in a sub and amp u can wire in this!
