Engine light / 4500revs in 3rd,4th,5th

    Hi,

I've searched the forum a number of times and can't really seem to get any definite answers so hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

    The car is a 2001 , 1.1 first.

First and Second gear can rev right out to the limiter. 3rd, 4th and 5th gear, once it hits 4.5k revs for a couple seconds spits on the engine management light, car will then run like crap untl its turned off and on. When i first bought the car it stayed on constantly. I changed the oil, filter, fuel filter, plugs, timing belt, water pump etc and if the light comes on, it will knock itself off within a few days, but go above 4.5k again and off it goes. Changed the bottom lamda sensor exhaust side. I have another lamda sensor to go in above the cat. But reading about on other sites i'm not convinced this is gonna sort the problem. I've heard mentions of a faulty crank position sensor. I've also got another coilpack which didn't help.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Its a pain in the arse, I generally don't drive the car hard but it would be nice to get full use of the rev range if and when needed.

    Cheers

Cheers bud, didn't realise these were so cheap. So used to paying rip off prices for bike parts. Will check it out and if it works i'll post it up incase someone else runs into the same issue
