Brembo Calipers From a 406

  1. #1
I have read the FAQ Sticky about the fitting of these
    http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97318

Generally speaking, how much do these Calipers go for used?

    Is that including Calipers, Disc's & Pad's?
  4. #4
yeah mate. there very expensive some people want over 300 for just calipers on ebay. another option is the 266 brake conversion. calipers are only about 70 quid and they really improve braking. but money no option the brembo's are the best things you can get under 15" wheels
  5. #5
seen a few go for less than 200 with pads and between 250-300 with some discs lately, thats not on ebay mind you

Unless your planning on really hammering your car around the track then the Brembo's ain't worth the money. Great for track cars but they won't need to be used during day to day driving, as above the 266mm Conversions are alot cheaper, I just paid £60 for mine.

    What size are GTi6 brakes?

GTi6 Brakes are 283mm and will fit under 15" wheels with the tiniest ammount of grinding (same as some 266mm brakes)

Ive just got some GTi6 calipers with discs and pads for £120
  10. #10
its not so much grinding for wheel clearance purposes (i'm not sure thats what you were implying, probably not lol) rather than just gettin them to fit the saxo

Did you notice a substantial difference with the GTi6 Calipers?

Reason im thinking Brembo's, is that they will be the muts nuts. Not going to pay over the odds for them though, especially if the GTi6's are good
  12. #12
pedal bike brakes will be a big improvement on a saxo.. money no option then go for them but. for fast road driving the 266's are more than good enough
  13. #13
gotta remember the gti6 brakes are heavy feckers aswell
  14. #14
Yeah that was another plus side to the Brembos. The fact that they are actually lighter that the standard VTR brakes

    Decisions
  15. #15
the brembos wont be lighter than standard calipers. the disks are nearly twice as big an so are the calipers. might be lighter than the gti-6 tho..
  16. #16
yeah pretty sure they are lighter than gti6
personally i'm taking a fancy to the V6 engine
  17. #17
I payed £210 for the calipers and pads, £55 for discs and £40 for brake lines. They are quite heavy, but stopping power is brilliant, got me out of a few messy situations since they've been on. They're worth the money tbh

Well I had my eye on some Brembo's on eBay.
Had 2days to go, was on £140, so I thought I shall keep my eye on them, potential bargin.
However, just had a quick look

Im hoping that comes with anal lube.

you could probably get them cheaper than that think I paid £250 for mine with pads from someone off here, might be worth waiting to see if a set comes up!
