Bonnet Jammed Closed

Is there anyway of popping the bonnet if its jammed closed. Had a little shunt and whilst the bonnet isn't dented or the like, it won't open.

Anyway I can under it at it without cutting it off?

get someone to push down or bang the bonnet by the catch while you pull the lever inside the car, this sometimes works if they get jammed, release cable hasnt broke has it?

    No, cable still feels tight.

I'll give that a try tonite - want to get the bonnet open, headlight out so I can install the replacement tomorrow and try bonding the bumper in place (its only a £600 scrapper of a car so it simply ain't worth spending hundreds on either claiming or new parts...).

ok mate, what parts are damaged? could it of bent the slam panel moving the catch maybe?

Left side of bumper has come off the mounts. Upper mount near the light (the crocodile jaw looking bit of plastic) is fine, the section with the circular hole is bent in. Bumper is drooping a little to the left but has plenty of of bolts holding it in place.

TBH I need to be able to pop the bonnet and so I can replace the headlight and remove the bumper to re-align and bond it in place.

my brother had a prang in a 306 and the bonnet got stuck. just yanked the shit out of the release handle while giving the bonnet a good go, and we got it up. just needs 2 people is all, as the bonnet will probably catch when you pull it and walk around to lift it!

If its been front ended its probs slightly out of line and not releasing it happed in my 306 although you couldnt see anything bent it did though........ the slam panel has probs pushed bacvk a couple of mm and wont clear the bonnet catch. Get somebody to pull up on the bonnet when you pull the leaver it should then pop.
