Important! : Windy Winds to Electric Querie

  1. #1
Basically, I'm buying leather door cards that look mint, but doesnm't have the wind handle hole (So meant for Electric Winds) So I want to convert my 1.1i Forte to electric Winds, Do I need the whole electric window kit or can I use the motor with the current setup (Just swap over for the handle Motor) and then wire it up with some different or normal Switches.

    Any ideas guys?

I've looked into it more and I'll get the motors and so on and fit it in, then wire the motor and some switches myself. Just the case of fitting the Window Motors now, Hoping someones got a guide (Can't find one) or someone could tell me how

    thanksfor the reply though

Get the hole runner and motor, may be alot easier to try and get doors with it all in in your colour then just wire them up? more expensive i guess but you will have to drill holes and stuff to bolt the motor. I wanted to take the motor and everything out of my old door and looked at it, i thought noway so i got my bro to get it all out it was easy enough he just drilled the rivets out of the motor and it came out.

I fitted leccy windows to the gf's old saxo

First remove the lower console around the gearstick
Have a look for 2 loose wiring plugs
If you have these that means you have an interior wiring for elcric windows,
If not you will have to wire them up from scratch.

You will need the motor and mechanism, 3 bolts (or rivets) hold the motor,
Nut top and bottom on the mech.

    Original manual

    Electric motor & mech fitted

You will also need the door wiring looms, switches and a new lower centre console (for switches to go in)
