i need help with my immobiliser and keypad

Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone could give me some info on my immobiliser and keypad, long story short the VTRs been sitting there for over a year and the bat has drained so I'm not sure if the keycode has been reset or not, iv been told by the mechanic that I need a new keypad and a ecu that matches up to the keypad is this true or can I just reorder a new keypad? The person that had the car before me unplugged the keypad from the immobiliser and had played around with with it and we found a few resistors blowen on the keypad its lighting up but nothing happens when I put the code in..

Have you tried resetting the code? (if you know how) it's in the user manual how to.

Yeah its 0000 or 1111 isn't it? Then u have to wait, still no luck
