I've just had a new strut put onto my mk2 VTR as there was a crack near where the wishbone pinch bolt is located. The scrapyard weren't sure wether it was a mk1 or mk2 strut, turned out it was a mk1 so wouldnt fit my driveshaft in.
The bearing was knackered so had it replaced but the mechanic rang me and said the new mk2 bearing wouldnt fit into the hub of the mk1 strut, so he changed my old hub(mk2 strut) over onto the new (mk1) strut so that the bearing would fit apparently.
Driving home, when braking there was an excessive clicking noise and lumpy feel to the brake pedal, as if the disc was warped, stripped it down to check but the disc is fine, the hub is not sitting 100% flat though, must be bent out of shape.
I was just wondering if there is any difference between mk1 and mk2 non-abs hubs as I looked on GSF and they only stock one kind of front hub for all 4 stud saxos regardless of year?
Would be great if someone could give me some info, spent a ton of money on the car so far this month and getting nowhere, just one problem after another.
